These two cock pheasants were having a bit of an argument today. There was no female around, so I am not sure what the disagreement was about. They usually live happily together in the garden until the mating season comes around.
There are so many noteworthy events and sightings during the year in my garden, that I decided to record them with photos whenever possible. Click on the photos to see a larger version. Enjoy!

This is possibly one of the greates things I mist of the English countryside - seeing Pheasant in the wild.
One of our neighbours keeps poultry in a cage in woodland close to our boundary and has a couple of Pheasants -but it's not the same.
I hear 'cock up' as it goes to roost which is a comfort.
Where I lived in Hampshire thay were in abundance.
I think someone must breed them around here because there are so many of them.
I love to watch them and the male colouring is so vibrant in the springtime.
